Commercial Services

New England Conservation Services is an approved contractor for the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund and the United Illuminating Small Business Energy Advantage Program. This program provides cash incentives and financing to eligible small businesses toward the installation of energy efficient lighting, lighting controls and refrigeration controls that may result in energy savings of 20% to 35%.

Ledgebrook Case Study: How we helped improve a condominium complex in Connecticut.

The Small Business Energy Advantage (SBEA) program is designed to provide cost-effective, turnkey energy-saving services for small commercial and industrial electric customers who do not have the time, financial resources, or in-house expertise necessary to analyze and reduce their energy usage. With support from the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund, you now have the financial assistance and expert guidance that will enable you to determine your energy future by making decisions based on efficient technology.

Who’s Eligible?
Commercial and industrial customers with an average 12-month peak demand between 10 and 200 kW for CL&P customers and 10 and 150 kW for UI customers.

How Does the Program Work?

  1. Our Energy Experts have been selected by UI and are fully trained in how the program works.
  2. Once the utility determines that you are eligible for the program, our Energy Consultant will call you to schedule a site visit.
  3. Our Energy Consultant will conduct an energy assessment of your facility at no cost to you. Upon approval by UI, the contractor will present a proposal to you. This proposal will include all applicable energy efficiency measures, the complete costs and estimated energy savings, along with available SBEA program incentives and financing options.
  4. Once signed, your project will begin within 30 days. The Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund’s SBEA program incentives will offset a portion of the cost of all eligible measures.
  5. Special low rate financing for the balance of the project is available for qualified customers.

The service may include:

  • Energy-Efficient Lighting and Controls
  • Energy-Efficient Heating/Ventilation/Air Conditioning (HVAC) and Controls
  • Energy-Efficient Refrigeration Equipment and Controls
  • Process Oriented Measures

Additional programs supported by the Connecticut Energy Efficiency Fund and administered by Connecticut Natural Gas, Southern Connecticut Gas and Yankee Gas Services Company are also available to assist you with upgrading your natural gas-powered equipment. Ask your SBEA program administrator or SBEA-authorized contractor for more information.
