NECS and our partners specialize in the installation of cellulose insulation. Properly installed, cellulose provides superior insulation and soundproofing at a cost that is much less than comparable petroleum based insulation. Cellulose is also biodegradable when disposed and takes far less energy to produce than other insulation types. Adding insulation can be a highly effective way to combat rising fuel costs and make your home more comfortable throughout the seasons.
In our experience, homes built in the 1970s and 1980s have a particularly high rate of insulation breakdown. Typically, these materials have been damaged by moisture or other environmental agents, which breaks down the insulation and impacts energy efficiency.
Infrared technology combined with blower door infiltration analysis allows homeowners to diagnose areas of a home that are not energy efficient and that can't be visually inspected.
An infrared inspection can be used to verify any items in question and will produce hard copy documentation of all conditions. (Thermography is not a standard component of Home Energy Solutions but is available at additional cost. Call us for more information.)
New England Conservation Services recognizes that multi-family residences face a number of challenges due to the mix of concerns that tenants and condominium owners, property managers/owners and condominium directors have.
